Robert G. Boyer, Codes, Products and Training Coordinator for the Palm Beach County Planning, Zoning and Building Department monitors impending code changes, and reviews and recommends acceptable proposals for alternative construction materials and methods for compliance with the county's building codes. He also assists with training and professional development of Building Division employees. Boyer is licensed in Florida as a Code Administrator, Plans Examiner and Inspector, and he holds Code Council Certifications for Building Official, Housing Code Official, Building Inspector, Zoning Inspector, Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector, and Standard Coastal Construction Inspector. In 2008, he received a gubernatorial appointment to a seat on the Florida Building Commission. He is a past president of the Building Officials Association of Florida and the Building Officials Association of Palm Beach County. In 1997, he was named Planning, Zoning and Building Department Employee of the Year in Palm Beach County.
