Ron Hoover is the Director of the Marion, Iowa, Building Inspection Department and Fire Chief for the City of Alburnett, Iowa. As Director of Building Inspections, he is responsible for the Building Department's staff and budget, and supervises the permitting and inspection processes for all new construction. As Alburnett Fire Chief, he is responsible for all fire department operations, including command leadership at emergency fire and medical responses. Hoover is a Certified Building Official and Certified Firefighter II. He has more than 20 years of professional experience and an Associate Degree in Fire Science. He is President of ICC Upper Great Plains Region III, and past President of the Hawkeye State Fire Safety Association and the Iowa Association of Building Officials. He also serves as an Officer of the Linn County Emergency Management Commission and Chairs the State Fire Extinguishing and Alarm System Certification Advisory Board. Hoover is the Director for Board Section B that includes the states of Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin, and the Canadian Provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
