Most of his career has been in the model code organizations in the development of codes and other technical services. His tasks have included secretariat to many of the previous ICBO code development committees and was secretariat of the ICC International Residnetial Code drafting committee and the ICC International Zoning Code drafting committee. He participates on many national and local committees and asists in state and local code adoption issues. He supervised the plan review services and Code Development staff at ICBO and was responsible for providing technical assistance to ICC membership, providing quick and accurate technical information through various media and upgrading the image of code enforcement officials, construction industry and ICC staff. He has over 17 years experience as a Combination Inspector, Plan Examiner and Building Official. He holds several certifications from ICC including Building Official, Building Inspector, Mechanincal Inspector, Plumbing Inspector, Plans Examiner and Accessibility/Usability Specialist and is certified as a Building Official from the State of Minnesota. | | Ken Baker | Ken Baker has been working in building energy efficiency for over 25 years. His 1982 Master of Architecture degree from the University of Idaho focused on energy and resources efficient construction techniques and the use of Idaho-based materials to create a vernacular architecture. He is an experienced educator, facilitator, and mediator. For fifteen years he worked for the Idaho Department of Water Resources Energy Division. He led the development of a team-based structure within the Division and supervised a staff of ten in creation and implementation of energy efficiency program for Idaho communities, schools, business and industry. Ken was the Idaho lead for the Residential Construction Demonstration Project, a six-year residential building science and research program. He provided building science and energy code training to builders throughout Idaho over a ten-year period. Ken left the state in August 2001, and opened a private energy consulting practice, K energy. Ken is currently working with the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance as a green building educator and technical assistance coordinator, a customer service representative for Rebuild America, providing technical and programmatic assistance and mentorship to program staff in the states of Idaho, Arizona and Nevada. He serves as a consultant to the Association of Idaho Cities on energy issues, provides IECC code training and coordination to the states of Idaho, Montana, and Nevada, and is the Idaho and Montana Education Coordinator for the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance.
