ICC Instructor Candidate Information 

Thank you for your interest in becoming an ICC Instructor

ICC welcomes knowledgeable, experienced code professionals to assist in the delivery of quality code training.

For consideration, please submit the following to ICC:

If you do not submit a resume, your application will not be processed.

After you have completed/submitted the online instructor candidate application, please send a video or audio-taped seminar or training session you have conducted, and proof of completing a train-the-trainer program and/or copy of teaching certificate, if applicable, to:

Becoming an ICC Contract Instructor

Step One: Achieve at least ten years of industry related work experience and five years of code related instructional experience by working with ICC Chapters, state and local code officials, private sponsors, technical institutions, and colleges.

Step Two: Submit application using online form.

    • ICC Chapter Official
    • State Level Official

    • Other executive level individuals who can verify professional and teaching experience

Step Three: Submit resume using online form.

Resume Provides

  • Detailed work history
  • Depth of relevant teaching experience
  • One paragraph Bio

Step Four: Application review

  • Credentials are verified
  • References are contacted
  • Resume is reviewed for completeness

Step Five: Applicant is notified of application status

  • List of approved courses
  • Conditions of approval
  • Instructor orientation and workshop training availability
