Congratulations on your decision to join the International Code Council; the largest building and safety code organization dedicated to protecting the property, health and safety of people worldwide. Below you will find everything you need to know about our membership categories. Choose your category, and then fill out an online or PDF application to join ICC for the first time or reinstate* your membership.

Your ICC Membership Status will fall into one of three categories:

Governmental Member

Government/Municipality (includes agencies, departments & units) engaged in administration, formulation or enforcement of laws, regulations or ordinances relating to public health, safety and welfare.

A Governmental Member may designate 4-12 voting representatives (based on population) who are employees or officials of that governmental member and are actively engaged full or part-time in the administration, formulation or enforcement of laws, regulations or ordinances relating to public health, safety and welfare. Governmental Members have voting rights. Read the ICC By-Laws , Articles II and III to learn more.

Deadline to join as a new or reinstate an expired Governmental Member and vote in Atlantic City this fall is April 1, 2013.

Corporate Member

An organization such as an association, society, testing laboratory, institute, company, manufacturer or corporation, interested in the purposes and objectives of the Council. Any government organization not meeting the criteria of a Governmental Member as described in Section 2.1.1 of the ICC bylaws may also join as a Corporate Member.

Individual Member

An Individual who is interested in the purposes and objectives of the Council

Any individual who is the holder of a current certification from the ICC.
Student Member			$50	Apply Online!	PDF Application
Any individual enrolled in classes or a course of study equivalent to at least 12 credit hours of classroom instruction per week.
Associate Member			$50	Apply Online!	PDF Application
An employee of a current ICC Governmental Member
Retired Member			$50	Apply Online!	PDF Application
Any former representative of a governmental member or a corporate member or a former individual member who is retired.

* If you have had an active membership within the past five years, you may reinstate that membership account. Reinstated memberships are not eligible for the complimentary codes book(s) that new members receive upon joining. All other membership benefits will be reinstated.
