ICC Helps You Get Up To Code in NYC
After 40 years, New York City now has a new set of up-to-date and comprehensive Construction Codes to meet the present and future challenges of New York’s dense urban environment. Starting from July 1st, 2008, the new 2008 New York City Codes developed by the International Code Council (ICC) will become effective. The new Codes enhance safety and encourage efficiency, cost savings and sustainable building. Putting safety front and center, these new Codes preserve the best of the 1968 Code while enhancing fire protection, construction safety and structural integrity in new buildings.
