Verify or determine the occupancy classification,
mixed use area, levels of separation, incidental
and accessory use areas; code compliance for storage,
handling, and use of regulated materials.

Verify or determine the type of construction requirements
including fire-resistance protection of individual
structural elements and components. Verify that
the building or structure location is in compliance
with the requirements of the local ordinances, fire
separation regulations, fire access, and the approved
site plan.

3. Fire Resistance
Verify that fire resistance rated construction and
smoke barriers comply with the code and tested assembly
requirements. Verify that opening protection, penetrations,
and joint systems in fire rated assemblies and floor
finishes comply with the code and critical flux
rating. Verify fire blocking and draft stopping
are provided as required and interior floor, wall
and ceiling finishes, decorations, trim, exposed
insulation and foam plastics comply with flame spread
and smoke-developed index density requirements.
