ICC Code Development Review Ad-Hoc Committee

The ICC Code Development “Governmental Consensus” Process (CDP) is at the core of ICC’s mission. It is the responsibility of ICC’s Board of Directors, as specified in Article X of the association’s bylaws to ensure the ongoing health and confidence of the ICC CDP. It is for this reason the Board has formed a broad-based committee to conduct a comprehensive review of the CDP and make recommendations about any changes needed.

The Committee composed of seven members of the Board of Directors and six industry stakeholders and will be chaired by Director Cindy Davis, Building Official, and Zoning Officer for Butler Township, Pennsylvania. The Committee will be conducting several meetings and discussions over the next several months, as they develop a final report.

The charge of the committee is to take a comprehensive look at the CDP and make recommendations for improvements, if any to the ICC Board for changes by December 2010. The objective of the Committee is to assess the health of the CDP ensuring that overall confidence in the process remains high. The Committee should review and identify the principles, goals, and objectives that underlie the code development process. In addition, the Committee should make certain that the following subjects are included in its review:

Feedback

The Committee will be actively looking for opportunities to get feedback from members and stakeholders.
