2008 Code Action Committees
The International Code Council is currently accepting applications for the following Codes & Standards Committees:
ICC Code Action Committees: The ICC Board recently approved the creation of three code action committees (CAC). Code action committees are code discipline specific committees whose sole purpose is to identify opportunities to improve and enhance a particular International Code or portion thereof. This is accomplished by the CAC’s submitting proposed code changes, modifications and public comments as well as participating in the Code Development and Final Action Hearings. The three code action committees are:
| CAC-B |
Building related codes - all chapters of the IBC and Chapters 1-10 of the IRC |
| CAC- MPG |
Mechanical, Plumbing & Fuel Gas related codes - IRC M/P, IMC, IPC & IFGC |
| CAC- Oth |
Other codes - IECC, IRC Chapter 11 & other I-Codes as evaluated by the CAC |
Code action committee members are considered for appointment by the respective ICC Councils. Click here for an application. The acronym above in bold is to be used to identify the CAC you are applying for on the application.
Travel required. Each CAC anticipates two meetings in 2008 in support of the 2007/2008 Code Development Cycle - one to review Code Development Hearing action and one to review public comments submitted by others as published in the Final Action Agenda. The CAC also will conduct business via conference calls. ICC Governmental Member Representatives are authorized to travel at ICC’s expense when participating at CAC meetings. All others are responsible for funding their participation on this committee. Term: Starting in 2008, CAC terms will be coordinated with the ICC Code Development Cycles.
