Calls for Committees

Call for Committees - 2007/2008 Code, Interpretation and Code Correlation Committees

The International Code Council is currently accepting applications for the following Codes & Standards Committees:

2007/2008 ICC Code Committees. ICC Code Committees are an instrumental part of the ICC Code Development Process. There are currently 14 Code Committees, responsible for the review and evaluation of code change proposals submitted to the 14 International Codes. The Code Committees for the 2007/2008 Code Development Cycle will hear the code change proposals at the 2008 Code Development Hearing during the period of February 18 - March 2, 2008 (tentative).

  IBC-FS International Building Code - Fire Safety Committee
  IBC-G International Building Code - General Committee (includes International Code Council Electrical Code - Administrative Provisions)
  IBC-E International Building Code - Means of Egress Committee
  IBC-S International Building Code - Structural Committee
  IECC International Energy Conservation Code Committee
  IEBC International Existing Building Code Committee
  IFC International Fire Code Committee (includes International Wildland Urban Interface Code)
  IFGC International Fuel Gas Code Committee
  IMC International Mechanical Code Committee
  ICCPC ICC Performance Code Committee
  IPC International Plumbing Code Committee (includes Private Sewage Disposal Code)
  IPM/ZC International Property Maintenance/Zoning Code Committee
  IRC-BE International Residential Code - Building & Energy Committee
  IRC-MP International Residential Code - Mechanical & Plumbing & Committee

International Code Committee members are appointed by the applicable International Building, Fire, and Mechanical/Plumbing Code Councils. 2006/2007 Code Committee members whose term expires December 31, 2007, must reapply to be considered for re-appointment. Travel required. Members of ICC Code Committees are authorized to travel at ICC's expense when participating at code committee meetings. Term: 18 months, January 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009.

2007/2008 ICC Interpretation Committees. The purpose of the ICC Interpretation Committees is to provide technical support for adopting jurisdictions by processing official interpretations for the International Codes. Committee Interpretations represent the official position of the International Code Council but in all cases, the final authority on matters of interpretation is the code official. There are currently 5 ICC Interpretation Committees:

  BCIC 2007/2008 Building Code
  ECIC 2007/2008 Electrical/Energy Conservation/Existing Building/Property Maintenance/Zoning Code
  FCIC 2007/2008 Fire/Performance/Wildland Urban Interface Code
  FGCIC 2007/2008 Fuel Gas/Mechanical/Plumbing Code
  RCIC 2007/2008 Residential Code

Interpretation Committee members are appointed by the applicable International Building, Fire, and Mechanical/Plumbing Code Councils. 2007/2008 Interpretation Committee members whose term expires December 31, 2007, must reapply to be considered for re-appointment. Committee travel is not anticipated - the committee conducts its business via correspondence. Term: 18 months, January 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009.

2007/2008 ICC Code Correlation Committee. The ICC Code Correlation Committee (CCC) is responsible for evaluating matters of consistency, coordination and format in the International Codes. This includes determining matters of maintenance responsibility of Code Committees and identification of technical and editorial revisions necessary in the International Codes.
