The World Toilet Summit & Expo 2008 (WTSE) is a key sanitation event organized by the World Toilet Organization (WTO). The focus of WTSE and WTO overall is to provide a platform for solving sanitation issues for the masses, both in the urban and rural areas.
The World Toilet Summit started in 2001 in Singapore. Since then, the Summit was held in Korea, Taiwan, China, Ireland, Russia, and India. Last year’s Expo & Summit, held in New Delhi was strongly supported by the Indian government. HRH Prince of Orange was the guest of honor for the opening ceremony at the India Habitat Center.
The 2008 WTSE will commemorate the International Year of Sanitation as declared by the United Nations. The theme this year’s entire event will focus on driving sustainable sanitation through market-based initiatives.
