Standards Development: Announcements

NEW MANUFACTURED HOUSING STANDARD AVAILABLE

ICC is pleased to announce the availability of ICC/ANSI 2.0-1998, Manufactured Housing Construction and Safety Standards. Publication of this standard culminates work begun in 1995, when a consensus committee was appointed to develop a document appropriate for reference by the Federal Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards (24 CFR Part 3280).

This first edition of ICC/ANSI 2.0-1998 includes the complete Federal standard, reformatted to comply with a numbering format more consistent with standards published by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). In addition, the document reflects changes to the Federal Standards approved by the consensus committee in accordance with ANSI procedures, including language that eliminates obsolete materials and methods of construction, introduces language more consistent with model building codes, and updates standards referenced by the MHCSS. To facilitate the use of this standard, each section number is cross-referenced with the corresponding section in the FMHCSS. ANSI's Board of Standards Review (BSR) approved the standard in February 1998.
