Two types of interpretations are available on the technical requirements
found in CABO (ICC)/ANSI A117.1 - 1992 Standard on Accessible and Useable
Buildings and Facilities.

on A117.1 - 1992. Included are the Official Interpretation Policy and
recent Official Interpretations. An official Interpretation is available
from the Committee, which represents the consensus of the A117 Committee.
An official Interpretation request often takes 6 to 12 weeks, or longer,
to process.
Staff Opinions on CABO (ICC)/ANSI A117.1 - 1992

are the Policy and Procedures for Staff Opinions and recent Staff Opinions.
An informal Staff Opinion represents the opinion of ICC staff and does
not necessarily reflect the consensus of the A117 Committee. A Staff Opinion
request is usually available within two to three weeks, though it is sometimes
issued on the same day depending on staff work load.
