Comprehensive Training

Training courses — now available from the International Code Council — will provide an in-depth understanding of the new CALGreen code. ICC’s training programs will provide comprehensive courses for inspectors, plan reviewers and other building professionals, as well as a number of certification practice tests.

  • 2010 California Green Building Standards Code: Performing Residential Plan Reviews & Inspections
    The course is intended to help those responsible for new residential plan review and inspections identify those areas where plan review will include compliance with the California Green Building Standards Code and to identify those areas to inspect on the site that were approved in the plan review and ensure compliance with the Code.
  • 2010 California Green Building Standards Code: Performing Nonresidential Plan Reviews & Inspections
    The course is intended to help those responsible for nonresidential plan review and inspections identify those areas where plan review will include compliance with the California Green Building Standards Code and to identify those areas to inspect on the site that were approved in the plan review and ensure compliance with the Code.

Get CALGreen Certified

Now Available – In partnership with CALBO, ICC is offering two new CALGreen Certification Exams that will validate the competency of inspectors and plan reviewers on their understanding and ability to implement the provisions of CALGreen. These exams will be offered via computer-based testing (CBT).

The CALGreen Inspector certification covers such topics as general requirements of CALGreen, residential building systems, and non-residential building systems. More information on this exam can be found in the Legacy & State Examination Information Bulletin and online at www.iccsafe.org/specialty.

The CALGreen Plans Examiner certification covers such topics as general requirements of CALGreen, residential building systems, and non-residential building systems. More information on this exam can be found in the Legacy & State Examination Information Bulletin and online at www.iccsafe.org/specialty.

ICC is also developing an online Certification Exam Practice course for each of the above certifications. The online practice courses will be designed to help evaluate your current level of knowledge and assist in certification exam preparation. The two Certification Exam Practice courses are via ICC Campus Online.

4570S10 This guide was developed by the California Building Standards Commission to help introduce the 2010 California Green Building Standards Code, also known as CALGreen, to all code users in the State. Features include:
