Welcome New Chapters

The following organizations were granted chapter status by ICC's Board of Directors on Sept. 24, 2005:

  • ICC Upper Great Plains Region III Chapter is the fourth group of ICC chapters to be granted ICC regional chapter status. The 17 chapters in their region cover the states of Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
  • Building Officials Association of Suffolk County covers the entire eastern end of Long Island, New York. This local chapter has over 300 members who serve as building officials, building inspectors, zoning inspectors and fire marshals.
  • Building Safety Professionals of Southwestern Idaho is an affiliate of the Idaho Association of Building Officials. BSPSI has over 150 members who are committed to the fair and consistent application and enforcement of Idaho's building safety standards.
  • Huron Valley Association of Code Officials (HuVACO) is an organization of building officials, building inspectors, plan reviewers and fire officials from an area in southeastern Michigan generally known as "Huron Valley." Formed just 2 years ago, this local chapter already has over 200 members. Through an innovative arrangement, Washtenaw Community College helps support HuVACO through the use of staff and facilities from the Department of Continuing Education.
  • Michigan Association of Code Enforcement Officers (MACEO) was granted local chapter status. They have 177 members who are code enforcement officers, building officials and building inspectors primarily from southeast Michigan. In addition, a group of MACEO members from mid-Michigan has recently begun having meetings in the Midland and Mt. Pleasant areas.
  • North Idaho Code Enforcers, also an affiliate of the Idaho Association of Building Officials, was granted local chapter status. They have approximately 60 members who are building inspectors, plans examiners, fire marshals, design professionals and building contractors from the four northern counties of Idaho.
  • Oregon Permit Technicians Association (OPTA) is comprised of permit technicians and support staff from building departments all across the state. OPTA recently expanded its organization to over 100 members and increased their number of ICC members in order to meet the requirements for ICC chapter status.
  • Pennsylvania Building Officials Conference, Region 2 was granted local chapter status. Pennsylvania Building Officials Conference, which is a statewide ICC chapter, has encouraged each of its regions to apply for ICC chapter status in an effort to enhance the structure of their organization. PENN BOC Region 2 is the second region from their organization to be granted ICC chapter status.
  • Southern Nevada Fire Prevention Association has over 200 members from all aspects of the fire service. The association is actively involved in training, supporting new fire code adoptions and networking within the industry. With the endorsement of the Nevada State Fire Marshal, SNFPA is in the process of expanding its association statewide.
