ICC CEO James Lee Witt recently attended the Firemen's Association
of the State of New York (FASNY) annual conference in Lake
Placid. James Lee and his wife Lea Ellen arrived in time to
attend a clam bake held on the first day of the conference.
On the second day, James Lee served as the keynote speaker
for the conference's general assembly, where he spoke on the
important role that volunteers play and outlined the many
facets of ICC.
James Lee joined Government Relations staff members Dan Lane
and Dottie Harris in presenting a chapter banner and plaque
to members of FASNY. Later, a meeting was held with representatives
of New York's state and fire service organizations where ICC
on-line training, certification, voting procedures and several
other topics were discussed.

Colorado Welcomes Chapter Manager Laura
Scott
Colorado Association of Permit Technicians (CAPT)
welcomed Laura Scott, ICC's Chapter Programs and Relations
Manager, to its September meeting. Laura taught "Credibility
of the Code Officials" as fulfillment of CAPT's Chapter
Education Benefit. The class was presented with many interactive
exercises covering such topics as communication skills for
the credible code enforcement professional, knowledge and
skills necessary for managing efficient work process and personal
improvement objectives to devise an action plan. Participants
were also willing to give their own experiences as examples
for each scenario.
ICC attends AZBO annual meeting in Arizona

Board President Frank Hodge led an ICC contingent
that participated in the AZBO Annual Business Meeting held
Aug. 1-3 in Sedona, Arizona. AZBO consists of the Arizona,
Southern Arizona and Grand Canyon chapters of ICC. Frank
gave an overview of ICC activities while speaking at the conference.
He was joined by Board of Directors member Adolf Zubia,
who discussed state and local issues. Other ICC representatives
attending included Bob Neale and Dave Nichols
of Government Relations. Bob spoke on grassroots activities
while Dave gave a presentation on the ICC Foundation and its
activities. Following
the presentation, AZBO members voted to donate $5,000 to the
Foundation's Tsunami Relief Fund.
Ryan presents banner to Kansas City chapter

Ryan was on hand to present a chapter banner to the Kansas
City Metro Association of Permit Technicians during its August
meeting. Pictured at left, Tim (right) presents the banner

Green attends PENNBOC annual conference
ICC Board President Henry Green recently spoke to members
of the Pennsylvania Building Officials Conference (PENNBOC)
during the banquet of its annual conference.
