United States Standard Strategy released
by ANSI
The United States Standards Strategy (USSS), developed through
a committee process facilitated by the American National Standards
Institute, has been made available in final, published form.
The following web-link leads to this document and to ANSIs
broader discussion of the history and relevance of the USSS.

The USSS is a revision of the document originally entitled
the National Standards Strategy, which was published by ANSI
in 2000. The ICC participated in each of the four subgroups
that met in late 2004 and early 2005 to evaluate issues and
make recommendations to ANSIs Standards Strategy Committee
(SSC), which was created to receive input into the revision.
As a consensus document, the USSS represents collective input
and interests of US SDOs vetted through the SSC with a process
that included a public hearing and receipt of public comment.
The result presents ANSI with a framework in which to exercise
its role in both the United States standards development arena,
and in its capacity as the US representative to the International
Standards Organization (ISO).
Especially in its purpose to promote and advance the principles
of OMB A-119 as codified in the National Technology Transfer
and Advancement Act of 1995 (NTTAA), and the appropriate representation
of US standards developing organizations (SDOs) interests
internationally, the ICC encourages the review of the USSS,
and stands ready to assist our SDO community in achieving
these domestic and international objectives.
