Can I use my single-user CD-ROM on a network?
None of the above describe my question. Where else can I get assistance?

Windows 95/98/ME with single-user CD

Installation is straightforward, unless you happen to get an error message about "fultemp environment." Two things might have caused this:

A. You may not have restarted your system after you completed the installation, which is required. OR...
B. You will need to add FULTEMP to your environment. Do this by following these instructions
  1. Add "SET FULTEMP=C:\TEMP" to the first line in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file
  2. Make sure the C:\TEMP directory exists. If not, create it
  3. Restart your system
[The install program normally adds this line to your AUTOEXEC.BAT file, but it mail fail if you don't have a C:\TEMP directory before you install the software]

If those two options fail, check to see if C:\WINDOWS is the default directory for your operating system. If not, reinstall the software and change the default directory to your operating system directory.

Windows NT/2000 with single-user CD

1. Use ntsetup.exe installation program
2. Change Installation Directory folder. Default is set to c:\windows. Change to c:\winnt
3. Check to see if you have a temp folder on your local drive (c:\temp). If you do not have this folder, create a new folder and name it temp. You can do this by opening My Computer, then the Local Disk (c:) and creating a new folder, naming it temp

To create the Fultemp variable:
1. Go to your control panel and open your system icon.
2. Click on the advanced tab.
3. Click on environment variables
4. Under user, click on new.
5. Type the following for the variable fultemp
6. Type the following for the variable value c:\temp
7. Click on ok to set the value and to exit out of the system properties.
8. Restart the computer

Windows XP with single-user CD

1. Use ntsetup.exe installation program
2. Leave the Installation Directory folder set to c:\windows.
3. Check to see if you have a temp folder on your local drive (c:\temp). If you do not have this folder, create a new folder and name it temp. You can do this by opening My Computer, then the Local Disk (c:) and creating a new folder, naming it temp

Windows 95/98/ME with network CD

Installation:
1. Map a folder/directory to root.
2. Copy the contents of the cd, except for the wv_mac and wv_unix folders, to that folder/directory
3. On each local computer, run the appropriate setup program (setup.exe for Windows 95, 98 and ME; ntsetup for Windows NT 4.0 and 2000). If you have Windows NT or 2000 you will need to set up the fultemp variable manually.

Can I use my single-user CD-ROM on a network?

Yes, you can install most of ICC's CD-ROMs on a network. However, single-user CD-ROMs can be used by only one person at a time. Network CD-ROMs are available for most products. The purchase of a network CD-ROM allows five concurrent users to access the software. If you believe more than five people will be using the software concurrently, then additional 5-user licenses must be purchased. Contact our Customer Service Department at 800-284-4406 for more information.
