Codes & Standards Discussion Forum

Welcome to the ICC Codes & Standards Discussion Forum

The Code Council has revisited how best to provide an online, professional Discussion Forum and area within the website that has a sense of community – where Members and nonmembers can provide input and exchange ideas with their peers in the industry. The new Codes & Standards Discussion Forum does just that, as it allows Registered Website Users and ICC Members to discuss the I-Codes in an online community.

Actually because we are in the IRC 2003 not the UBC, my area of Utah is a D2 and IBC a D. Different areas may be different if you are closer to the fault line.

The maps published in the IRC and IBC are nearly unusable in areas where the lines are close together. Go to ftp://hazards.cr.usgs.gov/hazmaps/design/ and follow the links for IRC or IBC. From that site you can download the same maps in pdf and other formats. Then you can zoom in on SLC or any other area that you might be interested in.
