Codes & Standards Discussion Forum

Welcome to the ICC Codes & Standards Discussion Forum

The Code Council has revisited how best to provide an online, professional Discussion Forum and area within the website that has a sense of community – where Members and nonmembers can provide input and exchange ideas with their peers in the industry. The new Codes & Standards Discussion Forum does just that, as it allows Registered Website Users and ICC Members to discuss the I-Codes in an online community.

Table A vs Table 1004.1.1 2010 Cal Bld Code By  Steven Jones

I need to determine the minimum plumbing fixture count for a restaurant/pool hall of  about 3000 sf.  The public area is about 2400 sf.  From table A,  I get 98 people (1/2M1/2Fe)  The number that is derived from CPC table 1004.1.1 is a lot higher, 190

There is no proposed construction, just painting and some new furnishing and fixtures.

Am I right in assuming that that the plumbing fixture count OL and the OL for sign posting and exits are two separate and distinct issues and cannot be interchanged?

Thanks

Assuming the occupancy is less than 150 and looking at Table 4-1, it appears as though you will need (2) W/C [1male,1female], (1) urinal, and (2) lavs [1male,1female].

But then doesn't footnote 14 require another Female WC to bring it up even?

In any event not my question.  I would like to determine if the totals from Table A

and Table 1004.1.1 are separate and exclusive issues.
