The Code Council has revisited how best to provide an online, professional Discussion Forum and area within the website that has a sense of community – where Members and nonmembers can provide input and exchange ideas with their peers in the industry. The new Codes & Standards Discussion Forum does just that, as it allows Registered Website Users and ICC Members to discuss the I-Codes in an online community.

IN this code it talks about grade or surface below. Does a roof count for suface below?

Flat roof might be a yes
Any roof over a 3/12 pitch a no
Will the child falling out the window be able to stop when landing on the roof or will the picth be to steep. Is there a parapet that would keep them from falling off the roof?
Remember the section is there because of children falling out of open windows. Landing on a roof may not be sufficient to keep them from fallin farther.
