Heating information: Nutone G7-60 split natural gas furnace with 90% AFUE.

Cooling information: Nutone FS4BD-30 13 SEER tonnage of 2.5.

The location is the ground floor of a townhouse unit in the unfinished recreation room. They have decided to finish it and build a closet around the mechanical equipment. The switch was going to remain in the same location but since the walls were put up, they were requested to move the switch to the outside of the closet.

Is the switch being used as a means of disconnect?

Is this an issue from the electrical code about a locking means of disconnect or keeping the switch is open sight of the technician who has to work on the equipment? I am only guessing as I did not visit the site......Is the Code enforcement officer approachable for their reasoning?
