2006 International Code Council
Annual Conference, Expo and
Code Development Hearings
To improve the efficiency of the Board of Directors elections,
the International Code Council is introducing a wireless voting
system for the 2006 Annual Business Meeting. When they arrive
at the Annual Conference, ICC voting members will receive
an electronic voting keypad with their registration badge.
Voting Members must bring the keypad with them to the Annual
Business Meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19, in order to vote. Prior
to the elections, there will be a brief presentation explaining
the voting process and how to use the wireless voting keypad.
This
new wireless system offers immediate feedback, improved accuracy
over hand counting and scanning, and proven, reliable and
secure technology. The software records responses and displays
the results within minutes.
In addition to using this wireless voting system for Board
of Directors elections, ICC also will conduct a mock code
change hearing to test the system. The simulation of electronic
voting for code changes will be from 1-1:30 p.m., Wednesday,
Sept. 20, in Coronado K.
The voting keypads must be returned to the ICC Registration
Desk after the Annual Business Meeting. Voting members who
attend the mock code hearing can return their keypads to bins
in Coronado K after the mock code hearing, or return the keypad
to the Registration Desk.
Please be certain to return your keypad. Members who do not
return their keypads will be responsible for a $200 charge
for a lost keypad.
