New
Chapter Rewards Program established
The ICC Board of Directors
has approved an exciting new Chapter Rewards Program. The program rewards
chapters for their hard work and dedication and allows them to earn points
that can be used to "purchase" certain ICC products and services.
Points
can be earned by submitting Annual Reports by the June deadline, purchasing
training days from ICC, sponsoring a Building Safety Week event or other
activity that promotes building safety, sponsoring conference events or
a chapter scholarship fund, donating to an International Code Council
Foundation (ICCF) fund, and more.
Reward
points can be used to "purchase" ICC training, audio virtual seminars,
online campus courses, ICC Annual Business Meeting registrations, video
taping services, complimentary eCodes, and many more products and services.

it can work for your chapter.

contributed nearly $65,000 to the International Code Council Foundation's
(ICCF) Members Helping Members fund to benefit hurricane victims. The
fund was established to assist employees and families of building and
fire departments impacted by the storms.
In
addition, several chapters have contributed to the ICCF Tsunami Relief
Fund and the Silent Defender program, plus the ICC Scholarship Fund. Click

of events, including the Chapter Presidents' Breakfast and the Chapter Leader
Workshop. Members also heard Retired General Wesley Clark's keynote address
on Project H.E.R.O. during the General Assembly Luncheon and participated
in the Silent Auction that benefited a local charity. One lucky delegate

Program
offers chapters more
training opportunities
Licensed contractors and certified inspectors are essential to protecting
the public's health, safety, and welfare. One of the keys to ensuring
there are quality contractors and inspectors is through training and education,
and ICC can make those training and education opportunities more affordable
through the Chapter Training Incentive Program (CTIP).
Funding
for CTIP is provided through examination fees. Contractor candidates seeking
to be licensed in states with chapters participating in the CTIP are charged
a small assessment fee in addition to the fee charged for testing. ICC
returns those assessment fees to the chapter.
For
more information on the CTIP program, click
here.
Chapters
offered presentation on
Building Department Accreditation
If you have read your mail lately or picked up a copy of ICC's Building
Safety Journal, then you have probably heard about the new Building
Department Accreditation Program from International Accreditation Service
(IAS). Now, IAS is offering ICC chapters an informational presentation
to answer questions being asked by building departments across the country.
The
presentation covers everything from the accreditation requirements and
process for getting accredited to the cost and benefits of the program.

here for more details.
