Regions Updates

ICC Upper Great Plains Region III (UPGR) is busy preparing for the 2007 Region III Educational Institute to be held February 5-9 in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. They are also planning to hold a Region board meeting, a Region membership meeting and a first annual UPGR Chapter Presidents Summit. It will be an opportunity for ICC and the Region III Board to hear from chapters on their ideas and impressions of what ICC is doing and how they envision the Region III chapter proceeding. It has been billed as an information/visioning meeting. Highlights include a five-day Leadership/Management Academy, five-day Fire Prevention Academy, evening reception sponsored by the U.S. Green Building Council-Mississippi Headwaters Chapter, and administration of International Code Council Certification Examinations (additional fee applies). Issues of regional code development and regional training will also be discussed. The Fire Marshals Association of Minnesota has voted to join the Region III chapter, which will be the first fire official chapter to join the UGPR.
