BOAT Awards 2008 BOAT UTA Student Scholarship
The Building Officials Association of Texas (BOAT) established an endowment with the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) in 2007. The BOAT UTA Student Scholarship provides support for qualified UTA undergraduate/graduate students in architecture, civil engineering and construction. The 2008 recipient is Hashemi Seyedbehnam, a civil engineering graduate student in the construction area. This endowment has served as a broad board initiative helping to generate other venues for promoting the profession. BOAT is currently distributing the entire family of I-Codes to all the Texas universities that have architecture programs. In addition, the chapter is working closely with other state organizations and professional groups to help identify their mission.
