Following elections for the 2007-2008 Board of Directors, Code Council Board President Steve Shapiro seized the opportunity for both the Board and membership to gain greater exposure to one another by assigning new primary Board liaisons for each chapter. The new Board liaisons will cover ICC Chapters outside their regional areas, allowing membership to gain exposure to Board members they may never see or talk to, bringing a fresh perspective from different parts of the country.

In most cases, the Board liaison of past years will still be in contact with their originally assigned chapter as a secondary Board liaison—still available to attend chapter meetings and assist in any way necessary as well as provide support and guidance to the primary Board liaison.

The Board liaison can attend chapter meetings when possible, provide guidance, and inform and advise chapters on the activities of the Code Council. CEO Rick Weiland and staff liaisons can also attend chapter meetings to discuss Code Council matters.

All chapter presidents and secretaries received a letter announcing their new Board and staff liaisons. Please add/replace your Board and staff liaison on any of your mailing lists. If you have not already done so, please include Chapter Programs Manager Patty Bond on your mailing lists, as well. Your meeting minutes, newsletter and other correspondence will help us stay informed of your chapter meetings, activities and happenings.

To have a Code Council Board member, Weiland or staff liaisons attend your most important chapter meetings, please use our Chapter Meeting Request Form. You are not required to use this form to request the attendance of your staff liaison; please contact them directly.

Chapters should contact Chapter Programs Manager if they did not receive their letter or for any further questions regarding their assigned liaisons.

Board and staff liaison information is also available here.
