International Code Council Board
member Gerry George attended the Wyoming Association
of Fire Marshals (WAFM) quarterly meeting in Casper,
Wyoming, on January 24. WAFM was approved for chapter
status by the Code Council Board during the Annual Conference
in Orlando, Florida, on September 16, 2006. To welcome
them to the organization, George presented the group
with a chapter plaque and banner. In addition, George
installed the chapter's officers.
Southwest Washington Chapter Events
On March 21, ICC Board member John
Darnall attended the Southwest Washington Chapter
meeting. Darnall addressed the group and installed new
officers. Pictured here, from left, is Treasurer John

The Chapter's Fall
Education Seminar will be held on October 15-16 at the
Red Lion in Vancouver, Washington. Topics will include updates
of the 2006 International Residential Code (IRC), International
Building Code, International Mechanical Code and
Uniform Plumbing Code, including IRC/Prescriptive Braced
Panels, Floodplain and Storm Water.
In addition, the Southwest Washington Chapter held
their annual awards ceremony and dinner at the Cedars Club
House. Several awards were given out with Lou Malattia taking
the majority. After the awards ceremony, door prizes were
distributed and the evening ended with dancing.
vonWeller Joins Member Services
Former Code Council Staff Liaison Jason vonWeller-previously
assigned to chapters in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana-has
accepted a new position as Manager of Program Development
in Member Services. His assistant, Tami Hartvigsen, formerly
the Regional Secretary is now a Program Development Assistant.
They will be working with the Member Services Department and
Government Relations developing and enhancing the Council's
member services throughout the country. In the interim, chapters
formerly assisted by Jason, may contact , Director
of State and Local Government Relations, at 1-888-ICC-SAFE
