ICC Visits Tri-County Chapter
New York's newest chapter, the New
York State Building Officials Conference Tri-County
Chapter, received a visit from Code Council Board
member Ron Piester and Director of State and Local Government
Relations Dorothy Harris. The group was granted chapter
status at the Council's Annual Conference in Orlando,
Florida, on September 16, 2006. Picture here, Piester

them to ICC.
BIANCO Welcomed to ICC at Dinner
Director of State and Local Government
Relations Dorothy Harris attended the Building Inspectors
Association of Nassau County (BIANCO) Annual Dinner/Dance
on February 9 at the Inn at New Hyde Park in New York.
BIANCO was granted chapter status by the Council's Board
of Directors at the Annual Conference in Orlando, Florida,
on September 16, 2006. Harris presented the group with
a chapter banner and plaque to welcome them to ICC and
installed the chapter officers. In addition, chapter
member Joseph Johnson was awarded ICC honorary membership.
Johnson, who is 92 years old, is BIANCO's longest-serving
Building Inspector.
ICC Visits FLBOA Conference

Finger Lakes Building Official Association (FLBOA)
Educational Conference held March 19-22 in Rochester, New
York.
A 2007 Service Award went to Scott Copp, New York State
Building Officials Conference Past President and member
of FLBOA since 1986. Loren and Mary Pelton were also awarded
a 2007 Service Award for their hard work in planning the conference
meals and running the hospitality room. The third service
award went to Steve Grandusky, Past President of Monroe
County Fire Marshals and Inspectors Association.
While there, Piester and Harris swore in Southern Tier
Building Officials Association President Mark Dedrick,
who was in attendance at the conference.
New York State Codes Coalition Discusses Codes Forum
Code Council Board member Ron Piester
met with representatives of ICC chapters that comprise
the New
York State Codes Coalition on March 15 to discuss
the upcoming ICC 2007 Codes Forum that will take place
in Rochester, New York. The group also discussed New
York's plans to update its building, fire prevention
and energy codes by incorporating provisions of the
2003 International Codes, as well as plans for future
code updates. ICC chapters represented at the meeting
included: the Firemen's Association of the State
of New York, New York State Building Officials
Conference, New York State Association of Fire
Chiefs and the New York State Fire Marshals and
Inspectors Association.
