Chapter Events Planned for Conference
Several chapter-related activities are planned for the Code Council’s 2007 Annual Conference and Education Program scheduled for September 30–October 3 at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada.
The Chapter Presidents Breakfast will be held October 1 from 7:00–9:00 a.m. This is an invitation-only event for presidents and one officer from each chapter. Invitations were mailed to all chapter presidents in June. Attendees must pre-register by September 20 by returning the RSVP portion of their invitation, or by sending an e-mail to the Council’s
Senior Vice President Sara Yerkes encourages all chapter members to attend the Legislative Forum on October 1 from 1:30–3:30 p.m. Chapters can get the latest on what is happening in the Government Relations division and hear about issues that may be of importance to them.
This year's Chapter Leadership Program will be held October 2 from 3:15–5:15 p.m. Laura Scott, Vice President of Chapter Relations, will present "Chapter Leader Manual: An On-Line Resource for Chapters." All chapter members are invited to attend; registration is not necessary. Continuing education units will be offered.
The Chapter Open Regions Meetings will be held October 2 from 5:00–7:00 p.m. Meeting rooms are available and may be reserved in advance by sending a request to
A meeting of permit technicians is scheduled for Wednesday, October 3 from 2–4 p.m. in the Whitney Room. The meeting will be hosted by Judy Pozarich, President of the Washington Association of Permit Technicians.
The Awards Luncheon will be held October 3 from 11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. The 2007 Chapter of the Year Award will be presented in addition to other ICC awards.
Promote your Chapter's participation at this year's conference through the many sponsorship opportunities available. Some suggested sponsorship opportunities for chapters include the Annual Banquet and Reception; Annual Banquet supporter; tee-box or awards sponsor for the golf tournament; directional sign advertisements; or full-, half- or quarter-page ads in the Conference Program. New for the 2007 Annual Conference, a special administration of the ICC Residential and ICC Commercial Building, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing exams will be held on September 30.
Chapter Presidents who completed a 2007 Annual Report should have received a specially marked, complimentary registration form. Chapter Presidents using this registration form should not pre-register for the conference online.
