More than 150 members, stakeholders and other interested parties participated in ICC’s National Town Hall Meeting in Denver, Colorado, to hear details of the proposed joint venture between ICC and the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) to develop single plumbing and mechanical codes.

"What you are going to hear today is a substantive discussion about where we have been, where we are going and how we hope to achieve an end goal," ICC Board President Henry Green told meeting attendees. "I think our first brush at this thing was to say, can we further the mission of the International Code Council by developing a single set of codes for this country?"

“The essence of this venture goes way beyond one jurisdiction, one state and even one region,” stated ICC COO Rick Weiland. “Just like the members and Boards of Directors of the three model code organizations did a few years back in creating their own ICC, today we have a unique opportunity to get closer to realizing that vision of a single set of coordinated codes for the country.”

ICC and IAPMO said they would continue to provide information to their industry members and stakeholders as events unfold.
