ICC-IAPMO proposal discussed at meeting
Details of the proposed
joint venture between ICC and the International Association of Plumbing
and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) to develop single plumbing and mechanical
codes were rolled out during a National Town Hall Meeting held in Denver,
Colorado, this past weekend. The proposal is available here.
"What you are going to hear today is a substantive discussion about where
we have been, where we are going and how we hope to achieve an end goal,"
ICC Board President Henry Green told meeting attendees. "I think our first
brush at this thing was to say, can we further the mission of the International
Code Council by developing a single set of codes for this country?"
Feedback from the proposed joint venture between ICC and IAPMO is encouraged.
Details are available here.

Think
Beyond the Fire Line

more people building communities in or near wildland areas, there are
greater risks from wildfires. In partnership with leading fire prevention
organizations, ICC offers the 2006 Wildland
Urban Interface Community Planning Toolkit to help at-risk communities
protect its residents from the threat of wildfires. Be firewise. Our
guidelines help you prepare your home and yard to stand against a
wildfire.
Volunteers
Make Their Expertise Count
It
takes the help of many individuals to develop the building safety and
fire prevention codes that are adopted and enforced by so many jurisdictions
across the U.S. and in other nations. Now is the chance to offer your
time and expertise for an ICC
Council, the Board
for International Professional Standards Committee or the Education
Committee.
