Bracing provides lateral stability for buildings subject to wind and earthquake loads. The joint publication will also be the basis for a new seminar. |
| ICC Partners on ASHRAE Water Standard | | The International Code Council is partnering with the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) on the development of a water conservation standard for building structures. The title and scope of the new standard is approved, a project committee is being formed and the standard is expected to be ready for publication by 2010. |
| Amendments to Ohio Codes | | The Ohio Board of Building Standards approved new and amended rules contained in Parts A and B of Amendments Group 77 certifying building departments to enforce the Residential Code of Ohio and to enforce the Ohio Building, Mechanical and Plumbing Codes. The new rules were made effective September 1, 2007. The departments certified are identified in the draft of Amendments Group 77 posted on the Ohio Department web site under the code information tab. The newly certified departments will be published by ICC in Appendix Z to the Ohio Building Code when it is next updated in December along with changes to the OBC, OMC and OPC presently under consideration in Amendments Group 78. |
