Tackling one of President Wally Bailey’s key initiatives, the International
Code Council recently hosted industry associations to discuss
ways to improve public perception of code officials. The Raising
the Profile Summit brought together representatives from the
American Association of Code Enforcement, Association of State
Floodplain Managers, International Association of Electrical
Inspectors, International Association of Fire Chiefs, International
Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, International
City/County Management Association, Institute for Business
and Home Safety and National Electrical Manufacturers Association.
Participants discussed the important role code officials play
in making everyday life safer, ways to challenge the current
public perception code officials face, and other organizations
to invite to join the coalition.
