ORLANDO, FLA., FEB. 7 - The two most influential groups in the home building
industry and the code development and enforcement community are collaborating
to bring uniformity to sustainable building practices. The National Association
of Home Builders and the International Code Council will undertake the development
and publication of a residential green building standard, NAHB and ICC leaders
announced today.

ICC, NAHB and the NAHB Research Center have initiated a process to develop
an ANSI standard for green home building construction practices. To apply for
membership on the consensus committee for the development of the standard and

here. Applications must be received by the NAHB Research Center by March 10,
2007, in order to be considered for consensus committee membership.
Note to ICC Governmental Members: ICC Governmental Member Representatives
are authorized to travel at ICC's expense if selected to participate on the consensus
committee for the development for the ANSI green home building standard. All others
are responsible for funding their participation on this committee. For more information
