Governor's California Performance Review
Cites Code Adoption as Signature Example of Need for Government
Reforms
Governor Schwarzenegger's California Performance Review
(released August 3, 2004) recommends a comprehensive reform
in the California Building Standards Commission code development
process.
International Code Council (ICC) Chief Executive Officer
James Lee Witt applauded the efforts of the Schwarzenegger
Administration to address a few government reforms.
Although ICC concurs with the background reasons and the
need for building code adoption reform, the ramifications
of the proposed recommendations will require careful consideration.
ICC will diligently participate in the process on behalf of
our membership. The portion of the report that deals with
the code adoption process is accessible here.
