Attend the 2005 ICC Annual Conference and Final Action Code Hearings

The 2005 International Code Council Annual Conference is your opportunity to affect the future course of building safety and fire prevention, develop code knowledge and see the latest in building and construction products and services. The nation's leading code enforcement and fire service officials, architects, engineers, plan examiners, builders, contractors and other construction industry professionals are encouraged to attend the event. The 2005 Annual Conference will be held Sept. 25-Oct. 2 at the COBO Center in Detroit.

The 2005 Annual Conference features the Final Action Code Hearings, which will result in the 2006 International Codes, and gives all attendees the opportunity to voice their opinions about proposed code changes by participating in the International Code Council's open governmental process. While everyone has an active role in the code development process, only International Code Council governmental members are eligible to vote on proposed code changes. These code enforcement and public safety officials have no vested financial interest, but rather, represent the public interest and public safety.

The 2005 Annual Conference also features more than 20 education sessions where attendees can develop their understanding and application of the International Codes while earning CEUs and LUs. Education sessions will be offered in entry, intermediate and advanced level categories to meet everyone's needs. Topics include Modernizing Your Building Department, Seismic Design for Low-Rise Structures and Residential Service Installation. Professional Interest courses also will be offered for those interested in exploring methods of enhancing their organizational efforts and improving the effectiveness of their staffs.

The International Code Council Expo will feature more than 100 exhibitors displaying construction industry-related products and services designed to improve the built environment. Exhibitors represent manufacturers, service companies, government agencies and trade associations. To participate as an exhibitor or sponsor, call 1-888-ICC-SAFE (422-7233), ext. 5264 or click here.

The International Code Council, a membership association dedicated to building safety and fire prevention, develops the codes used to construct residential and commercial buildings, including homes and schools. Most U.S. cities, counties and states that adopt codes choose the International Codes developed by the International Code Council.
