Attend the Green Building Safety Institute…

Green Building is the practice of increasing the efficiency with which buildings use resources including: sustainable sites, water conservation, energy efficiency, material resources, and indoor environmental quality, while reducing building impacts on human health and the environment. Green Building practices are implemented through use of common, as well as some alternative design and construction techniques. Consequently, the practice of Green Building is increasingly affecting building officials and building departments across the country.

The Green Building Safety Institute is a learning event for those ready to acquire the technical knowledge of how the I-Codes support green building and the skills necessary to assess green building practices. Participants will also learn how to develop Green Building programs and ordinances for their communities.

Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:

  • Explain how the I-Codes support green building
  • Use tools that will assist them in developing a green community
  • Use basic methods for creating voluntary programs along with mandatory ordinances
  • Use International Energy Conservation Code in the design, plan review, inspection, and analysis of projects
