for enrollments?
Yes, both the Certificate and Associate of Applied Science
degree programs are available for immediate enrollment.

member to enroll?
No, this program is open to ICC members and nonmembers.

resident?
No. As long as you have a computer and Internet access, you
can enroll in courses.

5. Can non-US citizens
take courses?
This is an open enrollment program. That means anyone, 16
or older can take courses regardless of national citizenship.
Individual courses or degree programs may have requirements
for specific educational background. Check the Catalog and Programs page for details.

6. What are the admissions
requirements?
Anyone, 16 or older, can be a student. There are no specific
admission requirements. Some courses may require previous
college or work experience. Check the Catalog and Programs page for details.

7. Who recognizes the on-line
degree and certificate?
Red Rocks Community College is an accredited institution
of higher education. ICC endorses this program as appropriate
preparation for code enforcement professionals. Many state
and local code enforcement departments already require a bachelor
or master's degree for employment. This appears to be the
tred toward professional standards.

8. Is the degree transferrable
to a four-year university?
Red Rocks Community College is working with several universities
to develop articulation agreements for the Associate of Applied
Science Degree in Code Enforcement program so that your on-line
degree will be transferrable. As articulation agreements are
finalized, information will be posted here.

9. Can I get credit for
courses I have taken at other colleges?
Red Rocks Community College provides a transcript evaluation
service to consider courses you have taken at accredited colleges
and universities. After the evaluation, you will receive a
letter explaining how your previously earned credits will
apply to the degree requirements.

10. What can I expect
inside an on-line "classroom?"
After you enroll, you will have access to your Student Home
Page. The Student Home Page lists the courses you selected
along with useful links and an orientation course. Click on
a course. Once inside, you will see a listing of the lessons
and a menu that will allow you navigate the course. You will
be able to communicate with other students and your instructor
by e-mail. You can post questions and comments to the course's
discussion forum. The forum allows you to have "conversations"
with classmates and your instructor without having to be online
at the same time. You also will be able to post assignments
through your course's Web site and read lessons. You may have
to visit other Web sites and even participate in online labs.
You will be able to take exams online and get feedback from
your instructor through your course grade book.

11. When do I attend classes?
You can attend class anytime you want. You will be able to
interact with your instructor and other students through chat
rooms, threaded discussions and e-mail. All the components
of the traditional classroom are available with on-line courses,
except that students are separated by time and space.

12. How much is tuition?
Current tuition information is available at http://www.ccconline.org/students/student_handbook.htm#tuition.
Additional costs may include books, CD-Roms, videos
or other instructional materials.

13. Is financial aid available?
Yes. Financial aid options include employer tuition assistance,
federal direct subsidized and unsubsidized loans, and private
loans. Students also may qualify for the hope tax credit or
lifetime learning tax credit. For financial aid information,
