Making the case to your supervisor for attending the ICC 2016 Annual Conference
If you need help getting the support and funding needed to attend conference, use this sample justification letter to present to your supervisor outlining the costs and benefits of this event. To help get your supervisor’s approval, here are a few tips to use in your justification letter:
Demonstrate how you intend to spend your time by developing a sample agenda
- Include attending educational sessions, networking, collaboration opportunities and vendor sourcing.
Emphasize the benefits of attending
- Bringing back new ideas, education session handouts, contributing to code development and influencing the final results from the code hearings, new connections and information to help improve your organization’s operations, and obtaining valuable CEUs to help maintain the certifications that prove your ability to serve your community.
Crunch the numbers to illustrate the value
- Include your early-bird discount registration fee, plus free admission to the Expo. Take advantage of any special discounts from Expo vendors.*
