ICC and ICC-ES to Have Large Presence during the International Builders’ and the Kitchen and Bath Shows

The International Code Council (ICC) and ICC Evaluation Service (ICC-ES), both committed to the highest level of industry involvement, will have a large presence including booths in both areas of the International Builders’ Show (IBS) and the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS) show floors to be held Feb. 4-6 in Las Vegas. Both ICC and ICC-ES are recognized supporting organizations of the first-ever event “Design & Construction Week” that was created by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) to improve industry professionalism through education, networking and product knowledge.
“‘Design and Construction Week’ is an example of how the industry is moving forward to educate code officials, designers, contractors and manufacturers on emerging technologies,” said ICC CEO Dominic Sims, CBO. “ICC is the source for information about the I-Codes and other services it offers, including product evaluations to ensure new and existing products meet code requirements.”
Not only will ICC and ICC-ES be represented by senior management and many of their highly trained technical staff, who will be attending several of the educational sessions, they are planning some key events during the shows, including a private reception and dinner for a number of major manufacturers to recognize their importance to industry and as clients of ICC-ES. ICC is also participating in a number of working groups, subcommittee and committee meetings as well as the DCW Roundtable in which Sims and ICC-ES President Shahin Moinian, P.E. will participate.
“ICC-ES’ evaluation and listing programs provide peace of mind to those specifying and approving products for installation,” said Moinian. “When products meet code requirements, it helps to ensure safety in the built environment, whether it be commercial or residential.”

The International Code Council is a member-focused association. It is dedicated to developing model codes and standards used in the design, build and compliance process to construct safe, sustainable, affordable and resilient structures. Most U.S. communities and many global markets choose the International Codes.
A nonprofit, limited liability company, ICC-ES is the United States’ leading evaluation service for innovative building materials, components and systems. ICC-ES Evaluation Reports (ESRs), Building Product Listings and PMG Listings provide evidence that products and systems meet requirements of codes and technical standards. The ICC-ES Environmental Programs issue VAR environmental reports that verify a product meets specific sustainability targets defined by today’s codes, standards, green rating systems and ICC-ES environmental criteria. The Environmental Programs now offer Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) to meet global market demand for science-based, transparent, quality-assured information about a product’s environmental performance. ICC-ES is a subsidiary of the International Code Council. For more information, please visit www.icc-es.org.
