Q: What is the ICC Pulse Podcast?
The ICC Pulse Podcast offers listeners the inside scoop on the International Code Council and the building safety industry. Episodes feature interviews with leading industry experts discussing a wide range of building safety topics including current events and new technologies.
Q: Where can I listen to the podcast?
Q: How frequently are episodes released?
Episodes are typically released on the third Wednesday of every month.
Q: Is there a regular host?
The host will vary depending on the episode topic. However, most episodes are hosted by a Code Council staff member.
Q: How is the podcast recorded?
The show is recorded using an internet recording dashboard (Zencastr) to make remote sessions possible.
Q: As a guest of the ICC Pulse Podcast, what will I need?
To record, all you will need is a PC/Mac and a reliable USB microphone or headset with mic and quiet room for the duration of the call.
Please note the following:
- The recording dashboard (Zencastr) is only compatible with Google Chrome and Firefox browsers. Due to the security settings and firewall on some government issued computers, there may be trouble accessing the Zencastr software.
- If you do not have a mic or headset, we are happy to let you borrow one of ours.
Q: Will I be able to prepare responses before the recording?
Yes. Prior to the scheduled recording, you will receive the list of interview questions we plan to ask. At that point, you may provide edits to the questions and/or prepare notes for yourself.
Recommendation: While being prepared is important, the most popular podcasts are free flowing and natural. We strongly discourage guests from reading directly from a script. A few notes to help the thoughts flow are typically all that is necessary to keep the conversation feeling natural and your nerves under control. Remember, you are the expert!
Q: Who do I contact to schedule the podcast recording?
Podcast Producer Madison Neal will be in touch with scheduling and content related items.
Q: Will the podcast be edited after recording?
Yes. The post-production process involves a series of editing sessions that address the content and quality of the episode. Once edited, each guest will have the opportunity to listen, review, provide further edits and ultimately approve their episode.
Q: Once released, will I be able to share the podcast?
Absolutely. We encourage you to share the show with your colleagues, friends and family! Individual episode links are easily sharable and available via the ICC Pulse Podcast webpage and podcast apps.
Q: Where can I submit suggestions for topics and other featured guests?
Email firstname.lastname@example.org with suggestions or questions.
