The ICC Board approved the creation of an ad hoc committee to comprehensively review and update the provisions in the International Codes relative to both new and existing hospitals and ambulatory care facilities. This new committee formed in cooperation with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE). The objective of this committee is to develop code change proposals to the International Codes which will result in the most contemporary, effective and efficient provisions for hospital and ambulatory care facilities to assure the highest level of safety for all users of such facilities.
ICC Committee on Healthcare scope: In July the ICC Board voted to change the AdHoc Committee on Healthcare to an ICC standing committee, and to expand the scope of the committee to include anything that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) covers as of July, 2017. Detailed information on the revised scope will be available shortly.
