We are now using the 2017 6th edition Florida Building Code.SmileThe Preface Chapter is a great read and overview/history.

On 12/31/2011, the state of Florida will adopt the 2010 Florida Fire Prevention Code which is based on the 2009 NFPA 1 & 2009 NFPA 101.

On 3/Construction exceeding the minimum requirements5/2012, the state of Florida will adopt the 2010 Florida Building Code.  This will include Building, Residential, Existing Building, Mechanical, Plumbing, & Energy Consevation.  These volumes will be based on the 2009 ICC codes.

On 3/Construction exceeding the minimum requirements5/2012, the state of Florida will adopt the 2009 International Fuel Gas Code with Florida Supplements.

On 3/Construction exceeding the minimum requirements5/2012, the state of Florida will adopt the 2012 Florida Accessiblity Code for Building Construction based on the 2010 ADA / ADAAG / FHA / FBA.

There will be no update to the National Electrical Code.  Flrodia will remain on the 2008 edition of the NFPA 70.
