Hello, Anthony.

I am sorry for the late reply.

Currently the curriculum at Building Code College is limited to deck codes.  We are already working with instructors for other courses, but do not expect any to be released until early spring.  As for preparing for ICC exams, anytime you are in the code books or studying code you are making yourself more prepared for ICC exams.  Learning how to navigate the code books quickly and effectively is key to success in ICC exams.  Passing exams should not be attempted through memorization of code alone, but also with analyizing the question and getting to the answer quickly.  Codes change; reference is important.

I am also sorry, but at this time we are not planning to provide any prep classes for specific ICC certifications.  I believe that ICC provides those types of courses at their online campus.

Thanks for your inquiry, and good luck with your future certifications!

Hi my name is Anthony. I am a California licensed P.E. I want to take the necessary training courses to prepare me for the Plans Examiner Certification. Where can I find such training courses? Thanks in advance.

http://www.buildingcodecollege.com

Technology, education, and building codes are brought together in the new ICC-Approved Building Code College.com online campus. A new way to learn codes and earn ICC CEU’s is emerging and the first online course is now available. Courses are organized and delivered into multiple bite-size segments to accommodate the busy schedule of working professionals. Segments include a course video, self-study, code references and other learning activities as appropriate. Codes are explored in depth and explained in reference to their intent and purpose as opposed to reciting the text.

Keep in touch with Building Code College through Facebook or Twitter so you can learn when new courses are opened. We are currently working with instructors to create more industry-specific, comprehensive code education like roofing, basement finish, detached garages, PV solar systems and energy conservation codes to name a few.

I am happy to answer any questions.

Building Code College...go beyond the words.

NOTE:  We will be listed on the ICC approved provider list next week, but our approval is good to go.  Learning comes first...but as a bonus...we've got CEU's for you.
