Mr. Krueger,

Thank you for sharing your experience. ICC appreciates your membership!  Sorry you had an immediate need for I-Codes and couldn't get that need filled while also signing up to be a member. I know having digital copies on your computer are always best however, you can always get free public access (viewing only) to all 2009 through 2018 I-codes on our website. Some State specific codes are also available. See the tab in the upper right hand corner of our http://www.iccsafe.org website. "publicACCESS". Follow through with a few clicks and you can get to the codes. We have an excellent customer service and membership departments so if you have immediate needs, please call us during our business hours 1-888-422-7233.

I will pass your comments along to our Bookstore Website department so they can make improvements.

I recently purchased a new membership into ICC online yesterday 2/20/2018. I am a Code Consultant for NECA(National Electrical Contractors Association) and work as an Electrical Inspector for 9 years for the City of Milwaukee. I have an immediate need for a digital copy of an ICC code and went to purchase, during the checkout process, I was prompted by the ICC website to become a member. I looked into it, and determined I would benefit on purchases if I became a member. Right on the member tab, the final bullet point on the right side states: Become a member online and start saving today on ICC purchases. I paid my $170 to become a member, and was then informed it will be up to a week before I can utilize the member discount. This is very misleading, and frustrating as I have a contractor that is doing a project seeking information that I need from an ICC document that I do not have in my library. There is a time crunch, and had I know there was going to be a delay I would have just purchased the download, or seeked a used copy on amazon etc. You may want to change the website to accurately reflect that purchasing a membership online will not give you immediate access to the membership purchase discounts. I did chat with someone online today and I was told it they will process it within the next 24 hours, which is better than the 6 business days quoted earlier. In today's construction market time is money and delays in getting information to bid a project properly, or satisfy an inspector can have huge financial ramifications for a contracting business.
