The blower door test only make sense for a complete building that was built with all of the prescriptive requirements to reduce leakage. Most likely, a blower door test couldn't be performed on an existing building as it would leak way too much, in order to get a before and after. However, if the addition was of the type that was self-contained, then a blower doot test might be possible.

Any thoughts on if a blower door test is required for an addition to a single family home?

Does it matter if the addition is a second floor or a first floor addition?

Is there a minimum size requirement for an addition before one is required?

Thanks,

Deb
