Thanks for the amendment document but that does not effect my project.

If anyone can help me on occupancy count I would greatly appreciate it.

[FYI-Currently Houston is on the 2012 IBC with Houston Amendments. The Chapter 3 amendments do not appear to affect the OPs question. You can look for yourself here: City of Houston 2012 IBC ammendments as of 8MAR2018: MODERATOR]

Hello all.

I am working on a new project which involves a warehouse which will be transformed into a Dance Studio.

The existing square feet is 4,306.

First question, can we classify this studio as Group B - Training and skill development not in school or academic program.

Second question, what occupant load factor should be used to determine the occupancy count. There will not be any competitions, performances, or food and liquor sold at the studio. It will only be used for teaching modern dance, ballet, etc.....

I visited the Houston Permitting Department and I get different answers from employees in regards to Group designation and occupant load factor values.

Thanks for your help.
