Firestops are detailed in section 714 of the IBC (2015).

Do you have a section number that allows mineral wool and lumber?

Based upon your phrasing it looks like you may be taking a practice quiz in preparation for a test, is that accurate?

Any thoughts on this one?

Good Morning,

Quick question on firestop- which one of the following materials are NOT allowed to be used for firestopping- a)mortar, b)grout, c)silicone, d)treated wood blocking? I am having difficulty locating this information, as IBC states mineral wool and lumber as options.
