SUMMARY:Design for Fire Resistance Using the International Building Code
DESCRIPTION:The presentation will cover the basics for determining minimum fire resistances for buildings using the 2021 International Building Code. Course material presented includes determining what minimum fire resistances are required for structural elements based on occupancy and type of construction\, and code recognized methods to document compliance. The learning objectives are: \nParticipants will learn how to determine the minimum required fire resistances for a building based on occupancy and use of different materials used to construct the building.\nParticipants will receive instruction on the fire resistance requirements for key building elements including the structural frame\, floors\, roofs and exterior walls.\nParticipants will gain a working knowledge of the various methods recognized Chapter 7 of the IBC for meeting the required fire resistances of the building elements. \nRegister here.  \n11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. PT
